More than 14% of Ukrainians consider themselves to be in poorest category: there is not enough money even for food

More than 14% of Ukrainians do not have enough money for food. This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted from July 24 to August 1 by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology.

According to sociologists, 43.1% of the respondents claim that their family has enough money only for food and 32.8% - for food and clothes, and they can save some money, but cannot buy such things as a TV or refrigerator.

At the same time, 14.1% of the respondents consider themselves to be in the poorest category - those who do not have enough money even for food.

7.7% of the respondents rank themselves among those who have a high income. At the same time, compared to July 2019, the situation has practically not changed.

The survey was conducted by the method of personal ("face-to-face") interviews using a tablet (CAPI, computer-assisted personal interviews), 2028 respondents living in 105 settlements of all regions of Ukraine (except for the Autonomous Republic of Crimea) were interviewed on a 3-stage stochastic sample quota selection at the last stage, which is representative for the population of Ukraine over 18 years old. The survey in the Luhansk and Donetsk oblast was conducted only in the territory controlled by the Ukrainian authorities. The statistical sampling error (with a probability of 0.95 and with a design effect of 1.5) does not exceed 3.3% for indicators close to 50%, 2.9% - for indicators close to 25%, 2.2% - for indicators close to 12% and 1.5% - for indicators close to 5%.
