Zelensky fires Chief of AFU General Staff, Commander of Airborne Assault Forces and Commander of Joint Forces

President Volodymyr Zelensky has made a decision to dismiss the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the AFU and the Commander of the Joint Forces. Accordingly, Serhiy Korniychuk, Yevhen Moisiuk and Volodymyr Kravchenko were dismissed from their posts, - the press service of the President reports.

In accordance with the decision of the President, Serhiy Shaptala was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Oleksandr Pavliuk - Commander of the Joint Forces.

The Head of State focuses the attention of commanders of all levels in the Armed Forces, leaders in the defense and security sector - on the need to intensify the implementation of tasks aimed at ensuring the modernization of our army and one hundred percent training of servicemen to defend Ukraine under the conditions of modern warfare.

"Now the world is undergoing a rapid transformation of forces and means for waging war. Our military must be ready for the most efficient performance of tasks in any conditions", - Zelensky noted.

The President notes that effective interaction between commanders and leaders at all levels is the basis for the successful functioning of the defense and security sectors.

"After the rotations and replacement of commanders and leaders both in the army and in the Ministry of Defence, I expect more systematic work and understanding by each soldier of our army of the prospects for the development of the Armed Forces as a whole", - the head of state summed up.

As reported, on July 27, Zelensky decided to dismiss Colonel-General Ruslan Khomchak from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
