CVU tells why Russian Federation attracts residents of CADLO to State Duma election

The Committee of Voters of Ukraine (CVU) has commented on the situation with the voting of residents of the occupied part of the territory of Donbas for deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation in an online format. Deputy Director of CVU Natalia Linnik told on the Dom TV channel what should be the reaction of Ukraine and whether there would be any consequences for those who voted in the future.

She expressed the opinion why the Russian Federation was involving the residents of CADLO in voting.

"There is logic in Russia's actions. It expects to receive the so-called mobilization resource from these occupied territories, namely, perhaps, its citizens in the future, of course, violating international norms and Ukrainian legislation by such actions. Why are they doing this? It is obvious: so that they have a motivation to tell in the future that they are protecting the citizens of Ukraine in these occupied territories. This way, they will have the opportunity to conduct military operations with the so-called protection of these Russian citizens. And as I have already drawn your attention, they violate the legislation of Ukraine, namely the Constitution in the part in which dual citizenship is prohibited to citizens of Ukraine", - Linnik explained.

According to her, Russia is trying to include our Ukrainian citizens in its cultural, social and political space in this way.
