The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has adopted an urgent resolution, which was initiated by Ukraine, and strongly condemns the ongoing occupation of the Crimea and certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as well as the war crimes of the Russian authorities, armed forces and mercenaries in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories. This was reported by head of the permanent delegation of the Verkhovna Rada to the OSCE PA Mykyta Poturayev on Facebook on July 6.

He noted that this happened despite "the intense opposition of the Russian delegation and delegations of countries that are under the influence of Russia".

The resolution also condemns Russia's attempts to block the Kerch Strait and the Sea of Azov contrary to international law.

The document condemns violations of human rights in the occupied Crimea and CADLO, as well as the ongoing dangerous militarization of the occupied Crimea and the illegal Russian passporting of Ukrainian citizens who are forced to stay in CADLO.

"By adopting the resolution of Ukraine, the OSCE PA has once again put forward a demand to Russia - exactly as an initiator and a party to the conflict with Ukraine, exactly as an aggressor state and an occupier country - to immediately liberate the occupied Ukrainian territories and stop daring and large-scale violations of international law", - Poturayev reported.

He also told that the Russian and Belarusian delegations left the OSCE PA meeting.

In addition, Poturayev noted that member of the Swedish parliament Margareta Zederfeld, who is a dogged critic of Russian neo-imperialist politics in the countries of the former USSR and Russia's aggression against Georgia and Ukraine, was elected new president of the OSCE PA.
