President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky sees a clear and large-scale public expectation of decisions in Russian society to end the war against Ukraine. He stated this in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"If we take an impartial look at the public sentiment in Russia, then, obviously, we will see a clear and large-scale public expectation of decisions to actually end the war against Ukraine. The Russian people definitely do not want any escalations and bloody expansions", - he stated.

"We understand very well that there is no desire in Russian society to continue aggression against Ukraine", - the president added.

Zelensky recalled "a wave of sincere interest on the part of Russians that arose immediately after his proposal to the Russian president to meet and find a path to peace".

"It is clear that the propaganda machine, which has been working in Russia for a long time, drives people into a complete lack of understanding of the rules of the modern world and into hatred towards their neighbors. It is clear that this is reflected in the state policy of Russia - investing in propaganda, they themselves unconsciously or subconsciously consume this propaganda and obey it", - the president said.

According to him, "if the president of Russia himself gets out of the influence of this propaganda picture, it will be obvious that a topic for conversation really exists".

"Not about myths, but about realities", - Zelensky noted.
