The issue of secession of the occupied Donbas cannot be submitted to the all-Ukrainian referendum. This was reported by speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Dmytro Razumkov at a press conference in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.
"It was about dissociation, because according to the adopted law, changes in territorial integrity or issues related to territorial integrity that are submitted to a referendum are impossible. We simply cannot physically endure them. The story of secession is not working. I think that the Ukrainian people will definitely not support any issues related to the fact that we will lose the Crimea or part of the Ukrainian Donbas. Our people are there", - he said.
According to him, Volodymyr Zelenskyy told about the possibility that the process on the Donbas would be frozen for some period of time.
"But I am sure that if we freeze this process, it will be even harder to return it", - the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada noted.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that if the authorities decide to fence themselves off from the Donbas, this decision should be supported by the people in the all-Ukrainian referendum.
