SBU and SBI make searches in the case of Medvedchuk's high treason

The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting investigative actions in the case of People's Deputy Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of high treason. This was reported to RBC-Ukraine in the press service of the SBU.

The SBU confirmed that investigative actions are underway in this case, but the details will come later.

"Investigators of the SBU and the SBI are conducting investigative actions within the framework of criminal proceedings, in which the suspicions were announced to People's Deputies Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak", - the SBU noted.

Deputy from OPFL Renat Kuzmin also reported on his Telegram channel that this morning, law enforcement officers were conducting regular searches at Medvedchuk's house. "This morning, prosecutors and investigators have again raided with regular searches to Medvedchuk. This time not only the party office, offices and homes of closest associates are being searched, which has already become a tradition for the current government. This time, they also came to the mother of Medvedchuk's wife with searches and in all seriousness are trying to find evidence of high treason by their son-in-law", - he wrote.

Earlier, on May 11, People's Deputies Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak were informed of the suspicion. They are charged with committing high treason and attempted plunder of national resources in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea (part 1 of article 111, part 3 of article 15 and part 1 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). On May 13, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv decided to send Medvedchuk to round-the-clock house arrest; he was put on an electronic control device on May 13.
