International humanitarian organizations still do not have access to places of detention in certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts. This was stated by head of the press service of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Ukraine Oleksandr Vlasenko on the air of the Dom TV channel.

He noted that the ICRC was not ending negotiations on the possibility of gaining access.

"The process is often no less important than the result. Although I understand that this is unlikely to be a serious and weighty argument for the relatives of those people who expect this access from us, but the dialogue is really ongoing. It is very important for us that the dialogue, which we conduct with structures in the uncontrolled territories, does not stop for a single day. And in general, I hope that we will get this access", - Vlasenko said.

In addition to negotiating physical access, the organization is engaged in the transfer of letters and parcels to detainees.

"Besides the fact that we are talking about access, we are also talking about other things that we continue to do. This is transferring of certain parcels and letters. We have our own special structure of the letter that can be filled out and transmitted to people in places of detention in custody in connection with the conflict in the Donbas", - the head of the press service of the ICRC delegation in Ukraine specified.

Vlasenko also expressed the hope that the negotiations at the international level will bring results, and humanitarian organizations will have the opportunity to monitor places of detention in CADLO. "We are providing all this, and I hope that the next step will be what we agreed on in Berlin, what we agreed on at the last meeting of the Normandy Four. And we will get this access", - he summed up.
