Representative of CADO of Ukraine in the TCG Serhiy Harmash sees no prospects for the opening of checkpoints in the Donbas. He announced this at a press conference in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"There is no prospect of opening checkpoints. And this does not depend on whether there will be a coronavirus there (in CADLO - ed.) or not. It was a political phenomenon, which is the implementation of a systematic and purposeful Russian policy to isolate these territories (from Ukraine, - ed.) and de facto reintegration into the political, economic and social space of the Russian Federation. The problem is painful", - he said.

Serhiy Harmash noted that it was necessary to eliminate any signs of subjectivity of CADLO, which "have reached menacing proportions in the Trilateral Contact Group".

"As mediators of the negotiations, the OSCE representatives endow the CADLO representatives from Russia with almost the functions and status of individual delegations. This must be seriously fought. Thus, not only the responsibility is removed from Russia, but the possibility of the dialogue itself between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the Donbas issues is deadlocked", - he noted.

As previously reported, checkpoints with the occupied territories continue to operate in limited mode. The Ukrainian side opened all checkpoints on November 10, 2020, but the occupation authorities are blocking their work.

Only one checkpoint – Novotroitske - continues to operate in the Donetsk oblast. The occupation authorities of CADO open it only twice a week - on Monday and Friday from 9-00 to 16-00. Leaving the "DNR" is possible only if there is registration in the government-controlled territory of Ukraine and only for those who will sign that they will not return to the territory of the "republic" until the "quarantine" is over. It is possible to enter the "DNR" only by the decision of the so-called "Interdepartmental Operational Headquarters", which does not always issue such permits.

Contrary to the statements of the puppet ruler of the "DNR" that the closure of the checkpoints protects CADO from COVID-19, the situation with coronavirus remains nerve-racking. The daily number of cases is not decreasing, and the death rate from coronavirus is one of the highest in the world - about 7-8%.

Occupation authorities of CALO opened only one checkpoint - Stanytsia Luhanska. It works daily, but only for crossing by foot.
