Ukraine stops flight connection with Belarus from 00:00 on May 26. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his Telegram channel.

"The Government instructed the Ministry of Infrastructure, the State Aviation Administration and the Ukrainian State Air Traffic Services Enterprise to take the necessary measures for this at an extraordinary meeting just moments ago", - he wrote.

In addition, Ukrainian airlines and aircraft will be prohibited from flying in the airspace of the Republic of Belarus.

The State Border Guard Service also received an order to stop the passenger processing traveling from Belarus or to Belarus at the customs points of airports.

"The situation with the compulsory landing of Ryanair's aircraft in Minsk is a violation of the Convention on International Civil Aviation. The decision of our government is aimed at ensuring the safety of flights and passengers", - Shmyhal noted.

As reported, a plane of the Ryanair Irish company, flying from Athens to Vilnius, landed in Minsk on May 23. The liner was forced to land in Minsk after the Belarusian authorities reported a bomb on board. The aircraft interception was carried out by the Belarusian MiG-29 fighter. The message about the mining turned out to be false, but it allowed the security forces to detain opposition journalist, former editor-in-chief of the NEXTA telegram channel and administrator of the Belarus of the Brain channel Roman Protasevich, who was flying on the Ryanair flight.

After that, the airlines began to fly around the territory of Belarus. In particular, Lithuania has banned all flights to the country that pass through the territory of Belarus. France called on Europe and the world to consider the issue of closing the airspace of Belarus "as soon as possible".

NATO demanded an investigation into the compulsory landing in Minsk of a plane with the oppositionist on board.
