The Kremlin has stated that it does not plan to take over the occupied territory of Donbas. Press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov stated this on May 13, commenting on the EU's statement that the Russian side allegedly intends to take over CADLO, - TASS writes.

"Russia did not plan and does not plan to take over anyone, it has never done this", - the Kremlin spokesman said.

It was earlier it reported that the European Union believed that Russia was trying to gradually take over parts of eastern Ukraine, and was considering ways to support Kyiv. As stated in the document, which the EU presented to the member states this week, and which was reviewed by the Bloomberg agency. In particular, the EU document says that such steps of the Kremlin, as the organization of illegal elections and the issuance of passports to local residents, "are aimed at the de facto integration of the non-government-controlled territory of Ukraine into Russia".

As previously reported, occupation authorities of the "DNR" and "LNR" regularly state that the "republics" are increasingly integrating into Russia and hope to include the uncontrolled Donbas in the Russian Federation in the future. The Kremlin, in turn, emphasizes that CADLO is Ukraine, while supporting the tension in the Donbas in every possible way.
