An agreement on sending the UN peacekeeping forces to Ukraine is unlikely to be reached in the near future. This was stated by the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres in an interview with Russian media on the eve of his visit to Moscow.
"There are very different points of view regarding what mandate and what role the peacekeeping forces in Ukraine could play. It is unlikely that an agreement will be reached in the near future", - Guterres said.
He also expressed support for the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
"We fully support the full implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as diplomatic efforts within the framework of the Normandy format", - he said.
