Terrorist Igor Girkin (Strelkov) proudly confirms that, having seized peaceful Sloviansk with a group of Russian saboteurs 7 years ago, he brought the war to the Donbas. This follows from his words in an interview made public on the network.

When asked about the events of 2014 in eastern Ukraine, he confirms his words that it was he who "pulled the trigger of the war". At the same time, the Russian saboteur does not hide pride in his actions.

"If our detachment had not come to the Donbas and if it had not become the core of resistance, Russian Spring in the Donbas, then, most likely, the Russian Spring would have been nipped in the bud", - he stated once again.

As OstroV reported, on April 12, 2014, little-known Igor Girkin (Strelkov) entered Sloviansk (Donetsk oblast) from the territory of Russia with a detachment of Russian saboteurs. His sabotage and reconnaissance group captured city police stations and the SBU, and Girkin himself declared himself "acting commander of the DNR militia". Later, he confessed that without his detachment, the murderous war in Ukraine would not have begun. "I still pulled the trigger of the war. If our detachment had not crossed the border, everything would have ended in the end as in Kharkiv and Odesa. There would have been several dozen killed, burned and arrested. And that would have ended. Practically, the flywheel of the war, which is still going on, was launched by our squad", - the saboteur stated in an interview with the extreme right Zavtra newspaper. Girkin fell out of favor with the Russian curators in August 2014 and was "fired" from the post of "Minister of Defense of the DNR".
