Donetsk city court of Rostov region found ATO participant Nadezhda Savchenko guilty of murder of Russian journalists near Luhansk. It is reported by TASS.

According to the verdict, Nadezhda Savchenko was found guilty of the murder of VGTRK journalists Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin, as well as the attempted murder of civilians and illegally crossing of the Russian border.

The basis of the guilty verdict was the prosecution evidence, in particular witness statements, results of examinations, including forensic, explosive and technical, psychological and mental, molecular-genetic and others.

As stated in the verdict, Savchenko "having military training skills, as well as the combat experience in Iraq, while being on vacation, participated in the armed conflict in the south-east of Ukraine on her personal initiative, came to the Aydar battalion commanded by Sergey Melnichuk, located in Schastye, Luhansk region." Savchenko voluntarily agreed to participate in the artillery strikes from howitzers D-30 against civilians who refused to recognize the legitimacy of the current Ukrainian authorities and expressed wish to establish a separate republic.

As Savchenko previously claimed, she will not appeal against the verdict.
