The occupiers opened fire from 82-caliber mortars, large-caliber machine guns, light and heavy anti-tank grenade launchers near Vodiane in Pryazovia. The enemy fired at the nearby settlements of Talakivka and Hnutove from hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers and small arms, and from heavy machine guns and heavy anti-tank grenade launchers - near Pavlopil. The enemy fired at the positions of the Ukrainian defenders from small arms in the suburbs of Avdiivka and Lebedynske. Our defenders returned fire to the actions of the Russian occupation forces. There are no combat losses among the personnel of the Joint Forces as a result of the enemy shelling.

Leader of the "DNR" Denis Pushilin does not object to the agitation of Russian politicians in the elections to the Russian State Duma in the territory of the Ukrainian Donbas temporarily uncontrolled by the legal authorities. "Obviously, since we want to fully participate in the elections to the State Duma, the pre-election processes should also proceed as in Russia. Of course, there can be no talk of any obstacles or approvals", - the "DNR" leader stated.

Occupation authorities of the "DNR" are dissatisfied with the fact that the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group opposes the involvement of "social activists" by CADLO, accused of terrorism. This follows from the statement by press secretary of the "DNR delegation" Vladislav Moskovskiy, not provided for by the Minsk agreements. "Mr. Alexander Kostin (the representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup) refused to participate in the negotiation process in view of the fact that the representative of the Donbas public Maya Pirogova is accused by the Ukrainian special services of creating a terrorist organization, which in turn, according to him, allegedly "discredits the negotiation process", - Moskovskiy wrote. His "colleague" from CALO Maria Kovshar also accused Ukraine of allegedly disrupting the work of the subgroup on the political settlement of the TCG. At the same time, both "press secretaries" continue to manipulate terms, deliberately ignoring the fact that the contact group is trilateral (Ukraine, Russia, the OSCE) and the fake "DNR/LNR" cannot in any way be part of it.

Militants of the so-called "people's militia of the DNR" were not paid the promised increased salary. This was stated in the message in separatist segment of social networks. "The announced increase in the pay of the DNR servicemen, which had been promised in February and, depending on the circumstance, should have been paid in March, did not happen", - one of the messages said. Some Telegram-channels report that "allowances to the military are being paid" in March in the same amount. The "DNR" militants received "the old sums to their amazement (as in February) - a little more than $226 lower limit and further by rank". It was earlier stated that the average salary of soldiers and sergeants of the "DNR" militants would increase by 20%, and officers - by 10%. The militants fear that the promised increase in wages will not happen, because "they were not eventually approved from upstairs".

CADO does not provide any privileges for the "DNR" militants who have received certain "war veteran identification cards". This was announced by Larisa Tolstykina, who calls herself "Minister of Labor and Social Policy", - separatist media wrote. "Firstly, the certificates issued by the DNR People's Militia Directorate do not correspond to the approved model. Secondly, the People's Militia Directorate needs to provide information about the issued identification cards and their owners to the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. As soon as these issues are resolved, all the declared benefits will surely be applied", - she promised.

The so-called "MFA" of the fake "DNR" proclaimed its readiness to open "representative offices" in Asia and North America. This was stated by Natalya Nikonorova, who calls herself the head of the "ministry". According to her, the "DNR MFA" is negotiating with unnamed representatives of Western and Southeastern Europe, South Asia and North America "on the opening of new representative centers of the republic". As previously reported, none of them has an official status - all "representative centers" were registered by local fringe politicians as non-governmental organizations or associations. They do not carry out any activity and perform solely a propaganda function.

231 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the occupied areas of Donetsk oblast over the day. This was reported by the so-called "Ministry of Health of the DNR". In addition, nine deaths have been reported. In total, as of March 16, 26 719 cases of the disease were confirmed in CADO, 5662 patients are being treated, 2137 people have died. The mortality rate remains at a critically high level of 8%. The occupiers also revealed 82 cases of "usual" pneumonia during the day, which is 38 cases more than in the previous day. Of these, 58 patients were hospitalized. In total, 1085 patients with pneumonia are being treated, of which 457 are on oxygen support (+21 over the day).

The water supply to Rovenky in the occupied Luhansk region was suspended due to repairs on the main water pipeline. This was stated in the message of the so-called "Ministry of Emergency Situations of the LNR". "From 08:00 on March 16, in connection with the planned work on the Rovenky main water pipeline with a diameter of 800 mm, approximately until 08:00 on March 17 (taking into account the entry into operating mode), water supply to consumers of the city of Rovenky and along the Volodarsk main water pipeline was stopped", - the message said.
