The Russian Federation will try to legitimize the issue of attracting Russian peacekeepers to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group in Telegram.

The report says that yesterday, head of the Ukrainian party of the Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) on ceasefire and stabilization of the demarcation line between the parties Major General Serhiy Salkutsan sent the head of the OSCE SMM a note on the acts of provocation of the occupation forces.

According to the information available to the Ukrainian party of the JCCC, the Russian Federation is carrying out a number of measures aimed at revising the agreements previously reached with the mediation of the OSCE SMM on Additional measures to strengthen the ceasefire.

In particular, these actions of the Russian Federation are aimed at assessing the reaction of the international community to the possible participation of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces in the JCCC as "…the only reliable way to help resolving the conflict in eastern Ukraine".

So, a series of reports was filmed at the positions of one of the units of the 2nd Army Corps (zone of responsibility - temporarily occupied areas of the Luhansk region) on February 27, 2021, in which the attention is focused on the possibility of increasing the effectiveness of control of the ceasefire, if Russian peacekeepers are involved in this process.

At the same time, it is stated that such an assessment was allegedly given by representatives of the OSCE SMM from some Western European countries.

Servicemen of the 2nd Army Corps were involved in the aforementioned filming, and uniforms of the OSCE SMM observers and servicemen of the so-called "LNR representative office in the JCCC" were used as filming props.

"The Ukrainian side believes that such acts of provocation are aimed at discrediting the Mission and the coordination mechanism as an effective tool to control the ceasefire. This fact testifies to the unwillingness of the Russian side to fulfill the obligations and agreements assumed earlier and reached by the parties during the TCG meetings and in the Normandy Four format…", - the message notes.
