President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law to restore responsibility for ina false declarations, - the press service of the President's Office reports.

Law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Establishment of Responsibility for Declaring False Information and Failure to Submit a Declaration of a Person Authorized to Perform State or Local Self-Government Functions" No. 1074- IX returns responsibility for declaring false information and for failure to submit a declaration by the party of the declaration, which was previously canceled by the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine. Corresponding changes are being made to the Criminal Code, the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law of Ukraine "On Preventing Corruption".

As the Presidential Office notes, the signed document eliminates the gaps in the legislation that arose in connection with the decision of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine of October 27, 2020, and provides opportunities for criminal prosecution for declaring false information and for the entity's failure to submit a declaration of a person authorized to perform state or local self-government functions.
