The opinion of the President was ignored: The Commission has not elected members of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption

The Commission for the election of members of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) could not vote for any of the candidates selected by them before at the meeting on Wednesday night and announced break till 12 a.m. on Wednesday, - informsInterfax.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on Wednesday night, the committee members discussed one by one each of the nine remaining candidates and voted for their election to NACP but none of the candidates got required 6 votes of the commission members.After a brief discussion of the results of the first round of voting, the commission held the second voting but with the same results.

Due to the relative invariability of the voting results for each of the candidates, commission members began debating whether to continue the meeting at night and announced a proposal to postpone it until 9 a.m. on Wednesday, however, and it was not supported.

As a result, at about 2 a.m. members of the Commission decided to postpone the meeting until 12 a.m. on Wednesday, March 16th and went away.

As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko during a meeting with the Commission on the election of members of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption urged them to vote to appoint two members of the NACP, as it is the last outstanding requirements for the introduction of the EU visa-free regime for Ukrainians."… Today, pro-Ukrainian position is that must have (elected - Ed.) two members of NAPC, so that I will fly to Brussels with your protocol," – told the President to members of the Commission.

At night on Wednesday the press service of the President reported that during the meeting with members of the Commission Poroshenko stressed the inadmissibility of the scenerio when the commission members did not agree on the candidates and as a result a new competition would be announced. "Friends, I have a request to unite around Ukraine and elect the two (NAPC members - Ed.). Do not let today emotions disrupt the competition. It is unacceptable," - said the head of state.
