First eight people in Donbas to receive compensation for destroyed housing due to Russian aggression

First eight applicants in the Luhansk oblast will receive compensation for housing destroyed as a result of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. This was reported on Facebook of the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

The first meeting of the commission on payment of monetary compensation for housing destroyed as a result of a military emergency caused by Russia's armed aggression took place In the Luhansk oblast.

Having examined the destroyed objects, the commission reviewed the first eight applications for payment of monetary compensation and decided to provide such compensation to the owners of these eight objects. Three of them are located in the city of Popasna and five more - in Lysychansk.

"So, the owners of destroyed housing, who were the first to apply to the local governments and civil-military administrations, will receive compensation in the total amount of about $82 thousand, which is an average of $10 thousand for each application", - the report says.

After receiving a generalized list of victims, the relevant ministry will distribute budget funds to the regional body for social protection of population of the Luhansk oblast, within five working days from the moment they are received to the account, it will transfer them to the victims.

The Ministry of Reintegration, together with the Luhansk Regional State Administration, local authorities and the civil-military administrations, continues to work on providing monetary compensation to citizens whose homes were destroyed as a result of a military emergency caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, and calls on to submit appropriate applications for compensation to local authorities.

As previously reported, $711 thousand were provided in the 2020 state budget at the initiative of the government for the first time during the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine for the payment of monetary compensation to citizens whose homes were destroyed as a result of a military emergency caused by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. The Cabinet of Ministers adopted relevant Resolution No.767 on September 2, 2020.
