The first "DNR" leader, Russian citizen Alexander Borodai has stated that there were many cases of COVID-19 infection among the Donbas militants and, at the same time, they were deliberately left on at the front line. Borodai said this in an interview with Russian journalist Andrei Karaulov.

In particular, he answered a question about the situation with coronavirus in the "trenches of Donbas".

"The problems are big. People get sick. Some get sick and die, others survive. Some get sick so well that some units are generally tried not to rotate at all. Because there are a lot of sick people, and rotating them means releasing them into the civilian environment, where, in general, there will be nothing good for the civilian environment, where many people are already sick. Therefore, they try to leave the patients at the front line", - Borodai stated.

As reported by OstroV, COVID-19 was "officially" confirmed in 7795 people in the occupied territory of Donetsk oblast, of whom 687 died. Thus, the mortality rate is 8.81%.
