Kremlin does not agree with idea of CADLO demilitarization and Ukraine's control of its own border

The Kremlin claims that the proposals for a settlement in the Donbas, prepared by the Ukrainian party, allegedly differ from the algorithm of the Minsk agreements. This was stated by press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov on Thursday, - Interfax-Ukraine reports.

During the conversation with journalists, Peskov was asked about the Kremlin's attitude towards the plan of joint steps in the Donbas, prepared by the Ukrainian side, as well as Kyiv's proposal to hold a meeting in the Normandy format by the end of the year.

"As far as I understand, it is about a completely different subject matter, which differs from the content and consistency recorded in the Minsk agreements. Unfortunately, I do not have information whether this plan was transferred to the Russian party", - Peskov said.

To the clarifying question, whether this means "no" to the Ukrainian proposals from the Russian side, he replied: "I do not know whether this plan was received by the Russian party and whether it has already been studied, which is undoubtedly necessary to formulate a position".

He also commented on the possibility of a meeting of heads of state in the Normandy format.

"There is nothing new to say. A meeting of the heads of state cannot take place for the sake of a meeting. It can and should take place for the sake of a certain result. The result, at least, should be in summing up the results of the implementation of the previously reached agreements between the heads of state and governments. The previously reached agreements include the agreements reached two years ago in Paris. If you take a quick look at the document available to the public, you can state that not all the points have been implemented as of today", - Peskov said.

As previously reported, Kravchuk told that the "Plan of joint steps" prepared by the Ukrainian side for the Trilateral Contact Group contained a proposal to completely end the conflict and demilitarize certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts in early 2021 and create all the necessary conditions for holding local elections there on March 31, 2021. Kravchuk also noted that the Ukrainian side would very much like the next meeting of leaders of the Normandy format states to take place before the end of 2020.
