President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has convened an urgent closed meeting of the National Security and Defense Council to determine measures for an urgent appropriate response of the state to new threats and challenges to the country's national security and defense. This was reported by the press service of the President's Office.

As noted in the Office of the President, there have been signs recently that certain entities are trying to revise the key parts of the social contract in Ukraine, which provide for zero tolerance for corruption and any form of non-transparency in the public policy. The Presidential Office states that "this is unacceptable".

It is reported that the president will invite the NSDC members to discuss the situation in the country's national security and make relevant decisions. The necessary bills, which will prevent the occurrence of such crisis situations in the future, will be developed and presented by the head of state to the Verkhovna Rada as urgent.

"Crushing blows that are being inflicted on the country's achievements in the field of combating and effective countering corruption in Ukraine cannot be ignored. An immediate and tough assessment of the decisions of individual entities, whose actions are becoming more and more socially dangerous, is needed", - the President stated.

As previously reported, it became known on October 27 that the Constitutional Court had made a decision on the constitutional representation of deputies on the compliance of a number of provisions of anti-corruption legislation with the Basic Law and had declared some of its provisions unconstitutional. In pursuance of the decision of the Constitutional Court, the NABU closes the register of electronic declarations on the execution of judgment of the Constitutional Court since October 28. The NABU reported that 110 cases would have to be closed due to the decision of the Constitutional Court. By its decision to close the register of income declaration, the NABU announced on October 29 that the Constitutional Court had actually blocked the appointment of leading personnel of the authorities, including the local elections' winners.
