The issue of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass has so far been postponed, but not removed from the agenda. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for the Reintegration of the Occupied Territories Oleksii Reznikov on the air of one of the TV channels, - RBC.Ukraine reports.

Ukraine will need the help of peacekeepers in resolving the conflict in the Donbass.

"The issue of peacekeepers was discussed at one time by our diplomats at the level of the UN Security Council. There was a discussion of what kind this mission will be (establishing peace or maintaining peace), where exactly the peacekeepers will be present: throughout the Donbass, on the demarcation line, on the border with Russia. There was a dispute between two positions and somewhere in between, theoretically, they could come to terms, but they postponed it", - he explained.

According to Reznikov, the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass could become one of the issues of negotiations at the level of leaders of the Normandy Four countries.

"But the UN Secretary General will then have to send an assessment mission, then he makes a request for budget funding and then the UN Security Council should support this funding", - the minister added.
