Fokin believes that "special status" should be given to entire Donbass and elections should be held without border controls

A special status should be granted not only to the currently occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, but to the entire Ukrainian Donbass. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Segodnya by first deputy head of the Ukrainian delegation to the TCG Vitold Fokin.

"Today, in order to end the war and save the lives of fighters and commanders, my position is to declare a total amnesty, hold elections, resolve the issue of the special status of certain areas and, better yet, - of the entire Donbass",- he stated.

At the same time, V.Fokin does not consider Russia's demand for Ukraine to exclude the clause that free elections in CADLO are possible only after gaining control over the border from the resolution of the Verkhovna Rada an ultimatum.

"I do not consider this an ultimatum. There was such a "game" at the beginning of our meeting: no matter what we said or proposed, Mr. Gryzlov replied: "Let us start with the fourth point". But Kravchuk proposed a version of an appeal to the Rada, it played a positive role. I believe that the Ukrainian delegation has found a way of breaking the deadlock", - Fokin told, having expressed confidence that the Ukrainian parliament will support Leonid Kravchuk's proposal.
