Anti-record for number of deaths from COVID-19 in Ukraine: 49 people died over the day

112 059 cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine as of August 27. This was reported by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a briefing in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"1974 people fell ill over the past day, of which 65 children and 137 health workers. 453 people were hospitalized over the past day", - the minister stated.

According to him, 49 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded over the past day. "This is a sad anti-record", - the minister noted.

763 patients recovered.

"In total, 112 059 people fell ill during the pandemic, including 7 504 children and 10 842 health workers. 54 217 people recovered and 2 403 died", - Maksym Stepanov said.

41 294 tests on COVID-19 were carried over the past day, of which 20 730 - by PCR and 20 564 - by EIA.

According to him, the largest number of cases over the past day was recorded in the Chernivtsi (159), Ternopil (141), Kharkiv (218), Ivano-Frankivsk (164), Odessa (185) and Lviv (203) oblasts, as well as in Kyiv (220).
