President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has held a meeting with the new commander of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was Major General Hryhoriy Halahan, whose appointment decree No.358/2020 was signed by the Head of State on August 25, - the President's press service reports.

Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Ihor Lunev from this position by another decree - No.357/2020.

The President drew attention to the fact that the tasks of the Joint Forces Operation have changed in the conditions of the ceasefire.

"There will be more provocations from pro-Russian militants, therefore, both the command and the personnel of the Special Operations Forces should work more to prevent them", - the Head of State stressed.

"It is also necessary to introduce more aggressive measures to counter the challenges that arise, - to adequately respond to the enemy provocative actions", - the Supreme Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

Among the measures that the new Special Operations Forces commander should also take, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the continuation of the development of all components of the Special Operations Forces.

The newly appointed commander of the Special Operations Forces assured the President of the main thing - high-quality performance of the assigned tasks in various conditions and continuation of the work aimed at developing the naval and aviation components of the Special Operations Forces.
