Another anti-record in Ukraine: 1453 new cases of COVID-19 over the day

78 261 cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine as of August 7. This was reported by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a briefing in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"Another anti-record. 1453 people fell ill over the past day, of which 103 children and 93 health workers", - the minister stated.

According to him, 33 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded over the past day.

531 patients recovered.

"In total, 78 261 people fell ill during the pandemic, including 5 490 children and 9 078 health workers. 43 055 people recovered and 1852 died", - Maksym Stepanov said.

35 719 tests on COVID-19 were carried over the past day, of which 18 410 - by PCR and 18 410 - by EIA.

According to him, the largest number of cases over the past day was recorded in the Lviv (152), Kharkiv (146), Ivano-Frankivsk (131) and Odessa (156) oblasts, as well as in Kyiv (186).
