1061 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Ukraine over the day

74 219 cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine as of August 4. This was reported by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a briefing in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"1061 people fell ill over the past day, of which 73 children and 66 health workers", - he stated.

According to him, 26 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded over the past day.

737 patients recovered.

"In total, 74 219 people fell ill during the pandemic, including 5 236 children and 8 865 health workers. 40 613 people recovered and 1764 died", - Maksym Stepanov said.

29 542 tests on COVID-19 were carried over the past day, of which 14 140 - by PCR and 15 402 - by EIA.

According to him, the largest number of cases over the past day was recorded in the Lviv (146), Kharkiv (143) and Ivano-Frankivsk (127) oblasts, as well as in Kyiv (108).
