990 new cases of COVID-19 recorded in Ukraine over the day

73 158 cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine as of August 3. This was reported by Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov at a briefing in Kyiv today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"990 people fell ill over the past day, of which 91 children and 44 health workers", - he stated.

According to him, 13 deaths from COVID-19 were recorded over the past day.

333 patients recovered.

"In total, 73 158 people fell ill during the pandemic, including 5 163 children and 8 799 health workers. 39 876 people recovered and 1738 died", - Maksym Stepanov said.

11 714 tests on COVID-19 were carried over the past day, of which 8 523 - by PCR and 3 191 - by EIA.

According to him, the largest number of cases over the past day was recorded in the Lviv (138) and Ivano-Frankivsk (119) oblasts, as well as in Kyiv (102).
