Russia's Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich has accused Ukraine of the alleged preparing a "military scenario for solving the Donbass problem". He stated this on July 9, - RIA Novosti reports.
Lukashevich believes that allegedly, against the backdrop of the actually launched campaign to prepare for the local elections planned for the fall, the hackneyed myth of an "external threat" is again being exploited.
"Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak stated on July 2 that the Ukrainian military "devotes more attention and time to prepare the troops for the offensive operations in urban terrain". The same remarks were made on July 5 by Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Navy Oleksiy Neizhpapa. This indicates that Kyiv is actively preparing a military scenario for resolving the so-called Donbass problem", - Lukashevich stated at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
In an interview with the Information Agency of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, General Khomchak really spoke about preparing the AFU for offensive actions. However, in that case, it was a question of working out the component of complex combat training, which is mandatory for any army. We are now devoting much more attention and time to prepare the troops for offensive operations in urban areas. We have learned to defend ourselves well in 6 years. The army should be trained and be on the advance day and night, in all weather conditions. I set this task a year ago. After all, the army must be fully prepared for various developments", - he stated.
Earlier, commander of the Naval Forces of Ukraine Oleksiy Neizhpapa stated in an interview with reporters that he did not exclude that the Russian troops would try to break out the occupied Crimea to the Kherson oblast in order to start the water running from Dnipro to the North Crimean Canal. "I do not exclude such actions on the part of the Russian Empire. We are preparing", - Neizhpapa noted.
