The year of the presidency of Volodymyr Zelensky did not bring Ukraine closer to resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. This was stated today by co-director of the foreign relations and international security programmes Mykhailo Pashkov during the presentation of study "The Year of President Volodymyr Zelensky's Activity: Achievements and Miscalculations", - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"There is no reason to talk about minimizing the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Russia continues military, political, economic, energy and information aggression against Ukraine", - he reported.

According to him, the initiatives of President Volodymyr Zelensky did not fundamentally change the situation in favor of Ukraine.

"There is no clear strategy for the actions of the Ukrainian authorities both in the Russian direction and in relation to the Donbass and Crimea. In my opinion, strategic miscalculation of the authorities is the actual refusal to introduce the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbass, which was previously discussed, and a number of countries supported this idea. But now it remains out-of-shot", - Mykhailo Pashkov said.

In addition, according to the expert, there is a lack of a focused policy of the authorities regarding the etension of the circle of allied countries in opposing Russian expansion.

The released report of the Razumkov Centre notes that certain initiatives of the Ukrainian authorities were dubious and one-sided, therefore they created additional risks for national security and sovereignty in the future.

"In an attempt to demonstrate quick results (for the sake of tactical success)

"In an attempt to demonstrate quick results (for the sake of tactical success), the president and his team, repeatedly - knowingly or not - made attempts to step over the "red lines", neglecting the "technical intricacies" of international experience, manipulating data from opinion polls and ignoring the lessons of their predecessors. The first and subsequent attempts to "end the war" give rise to doubts about proper understanding by the President V.Zelensky of the difficulty of achieving this goal. Also, not all the achievements that the President is proud of and for which he received positive reviews from the Western colleagues and the Kremlin should be taken as a definite positive", - the report said.
