More than 70 settlements in the Donbass do not have transport links with the outside world. This was stated by the UNHCR representative in Ukraine Pablo Mateu in an interview with DW.

According to him, before enforcing quarantine, 36 settlements in the Donbass did not have transport links with the outside world.

"Now, as we have found, there are already 71 of them. About fifty villages do not have access to primary health care and do not even have grocery stores. But you cannot go anywhere because of quarantine. We organized the delivery of humanitarian aid to these villages with the help of non-governmental organizations. A number of charitable organizations and the international committee of the Red Cross distribute food packages. Social protection departments of the Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts also receive support so that social workers can visit those in need", - he noted.

Also, according to him, the receiving of pensions remains troubled. "We are conducting a dialogue with Oschadbank on the delivery of pensions to settlements without ATMs", - Mateu said.
