Military plane delivers to Ukraine batch of tests from China to detect coronavirus infection

A batch of tests to detect coronavirus infection was delivered by Il-76 aircraft to the Boryspil Airport from the Chinese city of Guangzhou, - the press service of the President of Ukraine reports.

"The military board brought to Ukraine two types of tests: for PCR (polymerase chain reaction) and 250 thousand tests for express diagnostics. In addition, medical face masks of various degrees of protection, disinfectors, respiratory medical devices and other means necessary to combat the distribution of COVID-19 were delivered", - the report said.

After the disinfection measures are completed by sanitary services, the aircraft will be unloaded. Medical devices, in particular PCR tests, will be transferred to laboratories in every region of Ukraine on Monday.

Rapid tests, as well as medical face masks, will be sent for the urgent needs of doctors, military personnel, police officers, the State Border Guard Service and others.

Rapid tests will be used by emergency teams to check people who have fever and suspected coronavirus disease. In case of a positive result of the rapid test, doctors should take an additional sample for confirmation in the laboratory using a PCR test.
