"We have conducted an audit of all mines of national standing. There are 34 of them, if I am not mistaken. We now assess the economic situation for each of them. Those mines that have economic efficiency, where they can potentially compete, we will support as much as possible. Those mines where there is no economic solution due to the longstanding irresponsible management and their economic ability cannot be raised, we will look for an opportunity so that everyone who works there now does not appeared to be on the street", - he reported.

"Do not worry, we will take care of the miners and their families, we will find an opportunity for each of them to secure the future", - Honcharuk added.

According to the prime minister, now, due to the poor economic situation of state mines, the coal they mine is uncompetitive, and the mines are unprofitable.

Earlier, Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel stated that Ukraine produces more coal than it consumes.
