"No to sale of marketable products". Ukraine produces more coal than it consumes - minister

Ukraine produces more coal than it consumes during the heating season. This was reported by Minister of Energy and Environmental Protection Oleksiy Orzhel in the Verkhovna Rada today during an hour of questions to the government, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"I want to draw attention to the fact that coal reserves are increasing in warehouses every day. This means that we produce more coal than we consume during the heating season, on the days of maximum load", - he reported.

The Minister noted that the coal sector requires reforms and restructuring.

"If we do not have a sale of marketable products with such a load and system's operation, these are painful decisions that require a multifaceted approach… we need to do the necessary reforms and things that the current situation requires", - Oleksiy Orzhel said.
