Ukraine is going to create ministry of occupied territories

The Ministry of Occupied Territories is going to be created in Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk at a meeting in the President's Office with the participation of representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada, - the press service of the head of state reports.

"This will give us the opportunity to work much more effectively on issues of reintegrating the Donbass and working with people who have remained in the occupied territories or have moved to the controlled territory and are temporarily displaced", - O.Honcharuk noted.

According to Ukrayinska Pravda, the Office of the President sees representative of Ukraine in the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, ex-deputy mayor of Kyiv Oleksii Reznikov the main candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of the temporarily occupied territories. According to the sources, Reznikov was initially considered as a candidate for the post of deputy prime minister, who should deal with issues of the occupied territories. Ex-deputy of Vitali Klitschko came for a job talk on February 1.

As previously reported, there was a Ministry of temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons in the Cabinet of Ministers. It was combined with the Ministry for Veterans Affairs in September 2019.
