3.4 million residents of Donbass need humanitarian assistance. This is reported on Twitter by the UN, - RBC-Ukraine writes.

It is noted that 1.1 million of them are people over 60 years old.

"Since the beginning of conflict in the east of the country, the humanitarian community has annually provided assistance to more than 1 million people - but this is less than half of all those in need. According to the UN estimates, 3.4 million people in the east, of which 1.1 million are over 60 years old, need humanitarian assistance", - the report said.

Earlier, it was reported that the United Nations raised more than half of the necessary amount to provide vital humanitarian assistance to the Donbass residents. The UN wants to raise $162 million for the necessary assistance.

The UN warned of an increase in the need for humanitarian assistance earlier, 168 million people on the planet will be in need in 2020.
