President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has decided to give his place and the places of the Ukrainian delegation to the main event of the World Holocaust Forum to those who survived the tragedy. This was announced by Volodymyr Zelensky on his Facebook.

Reportedly, the decision to give the places was made due to the huge interest in the event and the limited number of places on the forum.

"We flew to Israel and learned that it was hard to get to the World Holocaust Forum for many of those who survived this terrible tragedy through the huge interest in the event and the limited number of places. We decided to hand my place and places of the Ukrainian delegation over to these courageous and unique people. The media report that some ministers of the Israeli government did the same. I believe that this is correct", - Volodymyr Zelensky stated.

According to the Ukrainian president, the transfer of places does not cancel the memory of victims of one of the worst tragedies of the twentieth century by the delegation of Ukraine.

According to Zelensky, he and the Ukrainian delegation will take part in all the planned activities, except for the main one.

"We will hold scheduled meetings with the President, Prime Minister and Speaker of the Knesset of the State of Israel. But those who deserve it more should get to the main event. Those who have accomplished the greatest feat - saved the lives when it was practically impossible to do", - the Ukrainian president believes.

As previously reported, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov had said that Volodymyr Zelensky requested a meeting with Vladimir Putin during a visit to Israel.
