President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko insisted that the Minsk agreements be signed by the leaders of unrecognized "republics". This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a regular press conference.

According to Vladimir Putin, the "DNR" and "LNR" leaders Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitsky, who were present in Minsk, refused to take on such responsibility.

"They all just took me by the throat (the heads of Ukraine, Germany and France - OstroV). And the representatives of these unrecognized "republics" refused doing this. I will reveal to you the ins and outs of the negotiations in Minsk: we still persuaded them. Thus, Ukraine itself recognized that such power exists in the "republics". There were "elections", this is a very democratic way", - the Russian president stated.

As previously reported, officially, Russia does not recognize the terrorist "republics" of Donbass and the "elections" held there. Regarding the Minsk agreements, first of all, they provide for the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine by providing the temporarily occupied territories of Donbass with the status of "areas with a special order of local self-government". Under all the documents signed in Minsk, there are signatures, including of puppet leader of the "DNR" Alexander Zakharchenko. This means that they pledged to fulfill them. Such concepts like the "DNR/LNR", as well as the names of any positions of "heads of republics", do not appear in the Minsk documents at all.
