Zelensky voices conditions for holding elections in CADLO

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that elections in the temporarily occupied parts of Donbass are possible only in accordance with Ukrainian legislation and after the de-occupation of territories. He made such a statement in an interview published by Der Spiegel, - Livyi Bereh writes.

"The elections will be held according to Ukrainian law. Ukrainian law excludes the presence of militants. All Ukrainian parties should have access, observers, journalists, the OSCE and the CEC. If there are armed formations, not a single party will go there", - Volodymyr Zelensky stated.

The head of state called border control with Russia the most difficult issue. According to the president, he stated to the Russian party that he did not agree with how this issue was resolved in the Minsk talks.

"According to them, elections will be held first, then control over the border", - Zelensky specified.

As previously reported, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko stated that he would make compromises on the issue of establishing control over the Ukrainian-Russian border in the Donbass before holding of the local elections there.
