"DNR" states that amendment of law on "special status of Donbass" was discussed with "republics" in Minsk

The so-called "Foreign Ministry" of the "DNR" states that within the framework of the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk, the parties discussed changing the law on the "special status of Donbass". This is stated in the press service of the so-called "ministry" of the pseudo-republic.

"…Representatives of both parties to the conflict exchanged their views on changing the existing law on the special status of Donbass, in particular, the negotiators discussed the implementation of the Steinmeier formula in the given law", - representative of the "DNR" Natalia Nikonorova said.

According to her, "it is too early to talk about any results". The occupation authorities believe that "this activity can be implemented in the form of written proposals in order to indicate all available amendment proposals in detail and clearly". Also, the "DNR" expects that Ukraine "coordinate the capturing" of provisions of the law on the "special status of Donbass" in the Constitution, agreed by the parties.

At the same time, Darka Olifer, press secretary of representative of Ukraine in the TCG in Minsk Leonid Kuchma, reported on her Facebook yesterday only the fact of the TCG meeting in Minsk itself, but did not go into details.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada speaker Dmytro Razumkov stated that the development of the law "on the special status of Donbass" will depend on negotiations in the Normandy format. The current law was introduced in 2014 and extended until December 31, 2019.

People's deputy from Servant of the People Iryna Vereshchuk stated that Ukraine would not coordinate the new law on the "special status" of Donbass with representatives of CADLO. "We cannot coordinate the bill with the unrecognized leaders of the unrecognized republics. They are not legitimate authorities, so we cannot talk about any bills with people that do not exist for us", - she said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Ukraine should extend the duration of the law on the special status of Donbass. "We hear from the top officials of Ukraine that another law on the special status of Donbass can be adopted. Which one? This is absolutely a key thing. If something that is not agreed with the "LNR" and "DNR" is adopted, everything will instantly reach a deadlock", - he said.
