SBU to search for those responsible for "Ilovaisk case"

The main military prosecutor's office handed over the "Ilovaisk case" for further investigation to the Security Service of Ukraine. This is reported by UNN with reference to the press secretary of the Chief Military Prosecutor Yevhenia Slyvko.

"The case of the Ilovaisk tragedy was transferred to the SBU in accordance with the jurisdiction", - Slyvko said.

As reported, the volume of criminal proceedings on the Ilovaisk tragedy is more than 1150 volumes, of which more than 550 are classified as "Secret" and "Top Secret".

Earlier, Prosecutor General of Ukraine Ruslan Riaboshapka announced on November 15 the interrogation of fifth President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the case of the Ilovaisk tragedy. However, Poroshenko did not appear for interrogation.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian army lost 220 soldiers in the battles for Ilovaisk in August 2014. The military prosecutor's office of the General Prosecutor's Office began conducting repeated interrogations of officials in the case of the Ilovaisk tragedy.
