"Zelensky crosses all red lines": Batkivshchyna goes into opposition - Tymoshenko

The Batkivshchyna party goes into opposition. This was stated by leader of Batkivshchyna Yulia Tymoshenko at a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada today, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky crossed all the red lines today. The law on the sale of Ukrainian land was voted in its first reading on his instructions. The ban on the sale of strategic property of Ukraine was lifted in this parliament on his instructions and with his support… It increases tariffs , reduces subsidies for housing and utilities services, destroys healthcare and education, completely destroys science", - she said.

"As a team, we cannot observe this being in an uncertain state. Therefore, we decided that today's voting for the sale of agricultural land in Ukraine is that red line that we had crossed, despite the desire of the Ukrainian people… Our team states the transition of the Batkivshchyna party to the opposition", - Tymoshenko noted.

Batkivshchyna's leader also stated that she would submit a proposal to the Constitutional Court to clarify article 13 of the Constitution of Ukraine in connection with the passage of this bill in its first reading.

"We want the Constitutional Court of Ukraine to explain to us whether such a law can be constitutional", - she said.

In addition, Tymoshenko intends to challenge the voting for the draft law on opening the land market in its first reading in the court.

The decision to go into opposition is at odds with the pre-election statements of the Batkivshchyna leader Yulia Tymoshenko, who promised that the party would not go into opposition to the new government, but would lend its shoulder and would help in every possible way.

"We will not work in the opposition", - Yulia Tymoshenko said, having argued that she "cannot afford another five years to be stupidly lost because we will be in the opposition because of ambitions".

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada passed a bill to open the land market in its first reading.
