President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky made it clear that his American counterpart Donald Trump did not put pressure on him in a telephone conversation, demanding that an investigation to be launched against his rival in the election. He said this in comments to the Russian media in New York.

"Nobody can put pressure on me because I am the president of independent Ukraine", - he said, jokingly adding that only his six-year-old son can put pressure on him.

When asked if he intends to ask for help from the U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting of the heads of the two states, Volodymyr Zelensky replied that this could be about support, rather than "asking". "Ukraine is a new, strong country. We are not asking anyone for anything, we can help ourselves", - he said.
