President Volodymyr Zelensky has approved the bill on impeachment of the head of state. This is evidenced by information on the status of the document on the website of the Verkhovna Rada.

It is indicated that on the bill was signed by the president on September 23.

The bill stipulates that the impeachment procedure is initiated by the majority of people's deputies of Ukraine, after what a provisional investigatory commission is created, which will "prepare conclusions and proposals on the investigated circumstances of the commission of treason or other crime by the President of Ukraine".

After the Verkhovna Rada decides to accuse the president, the parliament should appeal to the Constitutional Court and Supreme Court.

"The decision to remove the President of Ukraine from office by impeachment is taken only if the findings of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine and Supreme Court show compliance with the requirements of the Constitution and laws of Ukraine", - the bill says.

A decision on impeachment will be deemed adopted if at least three-fourths of the MPs from the constitutional composition of the Verkhovna Rada vote for it.
