Special status of certain areas of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts will not be fixed in the Constitution. This was stated by deputy of the parliament from the Servant of the people faction, head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Foreign Policy Bohdan Yaremenko, - Liga.net reports.

Commenting on "Zelensky formula", the People’s Deputy emphasized: "There will be no changes to the Constitution on the "special status of CADLO" - and this is a significant step forward in comparison with the predecessors".

Yaremenko claims that the rejection of amendments to the Constitution is included in the negotiating position of Ukraine.

As previously reported, on August 7, President Volodymyr Zelensky in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that there was no need to amend the Constitution to protect the rights of Ukrainians, wherever they were.

On September 18, representative of Ukraine in the TCG in Minsk Leonid Kuchma voiced the position of Ukraine regarding Steinmeier formula. At the September 18 negotiations, the Ukrainian delegation in Minsk set at least 6 conditions for the implementation of the so-called "Steinmeier formula".

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier noted in a conversation with the Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany "the importance of peace initiatives of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to end the war in the Donbass".
