Opposition Batkivshchyna is already resigning from post of vice speaker

The Batkivshchyna party withdraws its candidacy for the position of vice speaker. People's Deputy from Batkivshchyna Andriy Kozhemiakin reported this today at a meeting of the preparatory deputy group, - correspondent of OstroV reports.

"Yesterday, our political force, which is de facto in the opposition, stated that we were applying for the post of vice speaker. After consulting with our colleagues who are now in the opposition, we decided to withdraw this candidacy", - he said.

Leader of the Servant of the People party and the chairman of the preparatory group Dmytro Razumkov announced that candidacy of Olena Kondratiuk from Batkivshchyna would be withdrawn from consideration.

As previously reported, the Batkivshchyna party stated its joining the opposition and nominated a candidate for the post of vice speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.

The European Solidarity and Opposition Platform - For Life parties declared their opposition as well. They also aspire to the position of vice speaker of the Verkhovna Rada.
