The Central Election Commission has refused to register candidates from the Movement of New Forces party of former head of the Odessa Oblast State Administration Mikheil Saakashvili. The CEC adopted the relevant decision at the regular meeting on June 23, - LIGA.net reports.

"Having reviewed the relevant documents, the CEC refused to register candidates included in the electoral list of Movement of New Forces in the national multi-member constituency and candidates nominated for single member constituencies",- the report said.

The CEC recalled that the special election was called by presidential decree of May 21.

"Consequently, consideration of the issues related to the party's participation in the special election of people's deputies of Ukraine on July 21, 2019 at the meeting of the political council of the Movement of New Forces party on May 8 could not be carried out", - the report said.

The CEC believes that the extraordinary congress of the Movement of New Forces party, which was convened on June 10, and at which the electoral list of candidates was approved, "took place in violation of the requirements of the party rules".

A copy of the CEC decision and copy of the minutes of meeting of the party's council of May 8 and minutes of the extraordinary congress of Movement of New Forces of June 10 will be sent to the National Police.
