Prosecutor's office of Netherlands to charge Girkin (Strelkov) and three more persons involved with destroying Boeing over Donbass

The prosecutor's office of the Netherlands is going to charge three Russians and one Ukrainian with the crash of flight MH17 in the Donbass in 2014. This is reported by UNIAN with reference to RTL News.

According to its sources, ex-leader of the militants Igor Girkin (Strelkov), Russians Sergey Dubinsky and Oleg Pulatov, as well as Ukrainian Leonid Kharchenko are suspected of the plane crash.

According to the international Joint Investigation Team (JIT), all four suspects were in close contact with Moscow.

As previously reported, Malaysia Airlines' MH17 Boeing 777 heading from Amsterdam for Kuala Lumpur was shot down on July 17, 2014, over Russia-occupied territory of Donetsk oblast. All 298 people on board were killed in the crash. The majority of the victims (196 people) were citizens of the Netherlands. On May 24, 2018, the Joint Investigation Team, which includes representatives from Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine, provided additional evidence of Russia's key role in the tragic crash of flight MH17. The group concluded that the Buk anti-aircraft missile system, from which the plane was shot down, belonged to the 53rd Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade of the Russian armed forces, stationed in Kursk. The U.S. Special Representative accused Russia of the crash of flight MH17. It became known on May 25, 2018 that the Netherlands' government had begun to take steps to hold Russia accountable for bringing down the MH17 flight. Australia stated it would seek compensation from Russia for families of the victims of flight MH17. Today, on June 19, the international Joint Investigation Team will announce the first four names of those suspected of involvement in the tragedy. The Security Service of Ukraine will declare suspicions to these people today.
