Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has stated that the default would mean that ordinary Ukrainians would be on the verge of survival. He reported this on his Facebook, commenting on the risks of non-compliance with financial obligations.

He noted that his government had not allowed any crises during 3 years.

"I believe that our task today is to faithfully serve the debt and ensure economic growth. The default is a global crisis. And Ukrainians have enough crises. Ordinary Ukrainians, who will be on the verge of survival, will suffer from serious consequences of ill-considered decisions", - he noted.

As previously reported, oligarch Ihor Kolomoyskyi advised President Volodymyr Zelensky to default on the IMF debts in the hope that the European Union and USA would write off Ukraine's debts. "In my opinion, we should deal with our creditors, like Greece. This is an example for Ukraine", - he said, having mentioned the country that was unable to settle accounts with the International Monetary Fund in 2015.
